Mee Vaj, Certified Hypnotherapist and Reiki Master
MY MISSION: help heal and empower a billion people to live a happy, fulfilled life.
MY PATH TO BECOMING A HEALER
I came from a distinguished line of Shamanic and herbal healers. But growing up in America, I ignored this lineage and my calling and chose to pursue success in the corporate world. I was forced to re-evaluate my life after 14 years in the corporate world, when a series of rear-ended auto accidents left me in chronic pain. I had to give up running, weight lifting, and bootcamp—physical activities that I enjoyed. I was told my back could only get worse, not better. But something in me refused to accept this verdict. I began to search for alternative treatments. My seeking spirit led me to many natural healing modalities, notably Reiki, Hypnotherapy and Spiritual Healing. After much inner and outer work, I am happy to report that I can lift weights and do other physical activities without pain. More important, I have embraced my lineage and who I am. Now, as a practitioner of Hypnotherapy, Energy and Spiritual Healing, I honor the gift of my family lineage as I strive to bring healing to the people I touch.

MY BACKGROUND
I was born in Laos to an ethnic farming Hmong family. My parents and grandparents were healers. Life there was hard work from dawn to dusk, but it was peaceful and civilized. Then in the aftermath of the Vietnam War, we were persecuted by the Communist Regime that took over Laos, our punishment for having provided aid to the CIA. Countless people died from this persecution. My family was one of the lucky few who survived together as a family. When I was 8 years old we immigrated to the United States as refugees. There were many challenges growing up. We went from being well-to-do in Laos to being on welfare in the U.S. Culturally girls were not valued as much as boys and my sisters and I did not have the freedom and opportunities that an average American girl would have. I did not feel loved and supported by my family. There were 11 kids in the family, 8 boys and 3 girls. My two sisters and I did most of the cooking, cleaning and child caring in the family. I felt like Cinderella sometimes. School was an outlet that I was supported in, so I focused on school and earned a BA from the University of the Pacific and an MFA from the University of Southern California, School of Cinema-Television.
The cycle of hardship did not end after I became an independent adult. The man I feel in love and had my son with was physically and verbally abusive. It took me 8 years to get out of this situation. After that the road to healing was slow and long until I finally found hypnotherapy. One year of hypnotherapy and spiritual healing gave me more transformation than 10 years of doing it by myself with reading books and going to workshops. I wish hypnotherapy was available to me when I was in my 20's. I am so impressed of those who start their healing journey in their teens or twenties. My experience helps me to be more understanding of those who suffered abuse and trauma. I understand what it takes to heal from such a past and I strive to help others with love and compassion and no judgement .
MY LIFE NOW
I am now married to a wonderful and supportive man. Orange County is our home. We love the weather and diversity here. My son is a healer at heart, and has taught me a lot about being gentle and patient. I am so grateful for the blessings surrounding my life.
The "work" I do is enjoyable and fulfilling. It is such an honor to be able to help those who want a happier life. I am grateful to those who trust me to help them.
I enjoy spending time in nature. I particularly like the desert here in Southern California. I get recharged and clear headed when I take long hikes in the wilderness, away from the traffic and noise of the city. I enjoy beach volleyball, dancing, yoga, meditating, learning about other cultures, spiritual development, and learning anything new, fun and interesting. On the days I am not teaching classes, I am in someone else's class as a student. I am a student of life and for life.
My goal is to bring healing to more people. I am open to new opportunities to share my healing abilities with others.
WORK EXPERIENCE
My prior work experience includes film productions, media and advertising, education, aerospace, recruiting, sales and marketing, and financial services. I am grateful for my life and work experiences, for they have prepared me for this fulfilling life path of helping people to achieve positive changes in their lives using hypnotherapy, energy and spiritual healing.
