PREMA'S JOURNEY TO BECOMING A HEALER
Prema’s mission is to help heal and empower a billion people with love and compassion, using holistic methods, including hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming, and various energy healing and spiritual tools.
Her core values are result, trust and love. Since 2012, she has helped thousands of people make rapid transformation from trauma, abuse, anxiety, low confidence, etc.
Prema is continuously learning to sharpen her tools and bring in new effective methods to help clients get even better results.
Prema (formerly Mee Vaj) came from a distinguished line of Shamanic and herbal healers. But being a girl, she was raised to be a submission housewife. Healing was not encouraged for her. After college she pursued her American dream in the corporate world. After 14 years in the corporate world she was forced to re-evaluate her life when a series of rear-end car accidents left her in chronic back pain. She was no longer able to run or workout —- the physical activities she enjoyed. All the conventional therapies did not restore her back. She was told that her back could only get worse, not better. But something in her refused to accept this verdict. She began to search for alternative treatments.
Her seeking spirit led her to many natural healing modalities, notably Reiki, Hypnotherapy and Spiritual Healing. After much inner and outer work, her back dramatically improved and she is back to living an active lifestyle again.
Blown away by the effectiveness of Hypnotherapy, she went back to school to be trained in Hypnotherapy. She was surprised at how easily healing came to her. Then she realized that healing ran in her family. Now as a practitioner of Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Spiritual Healing, she embraces the gift of her family lineage and strives to bring healing to the people who are ready for positive change.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
Prema Saraswati was born in Laos to an ethnic farming Hmong family. Life there was hard work from dawn to dusk, but it was peaceful and civilized. Then in the aftermath of the Vietnam War, they were persecuted by the Communist Regime that took over Laos, their punishment for having fought the Viet Congs for the CIA. Innumerable people died from this genocide. Prema's family was one of the lucky few who survived together. They immigrated to the United States as refugees when she was 8 years old.
There are many challenges as she grew up in the US. They went from being well-to-do in Laos to being on welfare. In the Hmong tradition, girls were not valued as much as boys. Prema did not have the independence and opportunities that a typical American girl had. There were 11 kids in the family, 8 boys and 3 girls. Prema and her two sisters did most of the cooking, cleaning and child care. Sometimes she felt like Cinderella. School was an outlet through which she was supported, so she concentrated on school and earned a BA from the University of the Pacific and an MFA from University of Southern California, School of Cinema-Television.
The cycle of hardship continues even after she became an independent adult. The man that Prema fell in love with and had her son with was abusive physically and verbally. It took her 8 years to get out of the situation. After that, the road to healing was slow and long until she found hypnotherapy. One year of hypnotherapy and spiritual healing gave her more transformation than 10 years of doing it by herself with reading books and going to workshops. She wished hypnotherapy was available to her when she was in her 20's. She would have saved herself a lot of suffering.
Prema's experience with traumas and abuse helps her to be more understanding of those who suffered similar fate. She understands what it takes to heal from such a past and strives to help others with love and compassion and no judgement.
LIFE NOW
Prema lives with her husband Jim in the Joshua Tree, CA area. She likes hiking in the desert and loves being in nature. She enjoys learning about other cultures, spiritual development and anything new, fun and interesting. She is a student of life and for life.
Her goal is to bring healing to more people globally.

Prema's prior work experience includes film productions, media and advertising, aerospace, recruiting, sales and marketing, and financial services. She is grateful for her life and work experiences, for they have prepared her for the fulfilling life path of helping people to achieve positive changes in their lives using Hypnotherapy, NLP, and Spiritual Healing.
